AI Writing Assistant

How AI Suggestions Work

PiccoLeap uses advanced language models to provide writing suggestions in real time. The AI reads your document context, voice profile, and document type to generate text that matches your style.

There are two ways to interact with the AI:

Chat Panel

Open the chat panel from the editor sidebar to have a conversation about your document. You can ask the AI to:

  • Draft new sections
  • Rewrite existing paragraphs
  • Suggest improvements
  • Answer questions about writing conventions

Suggest Changes Mode

Click Suggest Changes in the toolbar to enable inline suggestions. The AI will propose edits directly in your document, shown as tracked changes that you can accept or reject individually.

Refining AI Output

If a suggestion is not quite right, you have several options:

  1. Edit the suggestion -- modify the AI text directly in the editor
  2. Regenerate -- ask the AI to try again with different phrasing
  3. Provide more context -- give the AI additional instructions in the chat panel
  4. Adjust your voice profile -- update tone or formality settings

Accepting and Rejecting Edits

When using Suggest Changes mode:

  • Green highlights indicate proposed additions
  • Red strikethrough indicates proposed deletions
  • Click Accept to apply a single change
  • Click Reject to discard a single change
  • Use Accept All or Reject All in the toolbar for bulk actions

Best Practices for Prompts

Write clear, specific prompts for the best results:

Instead of Try
"Make this better" "Strengthen the impact statement with specific enrollment data"
"Write a letter" "Draft a thank-you letter to a $10,000 donor emphasizing scholarship impact"
"Fix this" "Simplify this paragraph for a general audience while keeping the key data points"

Usage Limits

AI generations are subject to your plan limits:

  • Free plan: 25 generations per month
  • Pro plan: 1,000 generations per month

Each chat message or suggest-changes action counts as one generation.
