Sharing & Export
Sharing via Link
Share any document by generating a share link:
- Open the document in the editor
- Click the Share button in the toolbar
- Choose a permission level
- Copy the generated link and send it to collaborators
Permission Levels
| Level | Can View | Can Edit |
|---|---|---|
| View only | Yes | No |
| Editor | Yes | Yes |
Share links can be revoked at any time from the share settings panel.
Exporting Documents
PiccoLeap supports exporting to multiple formats:
PDF Export
Click Export > PDF to generate a formatted PDF. The export preserves your document's headings, lists, tables, and images. PDFs are ideal for final submissions and archival copies.
DOCX Export
Click Export > DOCX to generate a Microsoft Word document. This is useful when collaborators prefer Word or when a submission portal requires .docx format. Formatting is preserved including styles and structure.
Version History
PiccoLeap automatically tracks document versions:
- Auto-save creates a version checkpoint every few minutes while editing
- Named versions can be created manually for important milestones
- Restore any previous version from the version history panel
To access version history, click the clock icon in the editor toolbar.
Tips for Collaboration
- Share view-only links with stakeholders who need to review but not edit
- Export to PDF for final document submission
- Export to DOCX when you need to continue editing in another tool
- Check version history before sharing to ensure you are sending the latest draft
